About the EDR Institute

The EDR Institute was founded by Peter Silverman in 2016, after years as a litigator, arbitrator and mediator focusing on how to streamline the dispute resolution process. In 2019, Anne Jordan and Michael Hawash joined Peter in this effort and all three currently sit on the EDRI Board.

Anne spent years as a general counsel, looking for process improvements that would reduce the cost and resource drain that litigation involved. As an early adopter of what is now EDR, she’s seen the benefits firsthand. Michael’s litigation career spans over four decades. He now draws on his vast experience as a trial lawyer to help parties avoid the uncertainties and expense of the courthouse by mediation and EDR.

The EDR Institute trains qualified neutrals on EDR, maintains the EDR Protocols, and through its membership directory enables parties to identify properly trained neutrals by experience and subject matter expertise.
